DAC Guidelines
Trade makes an essential contribution to development. Trade and trade liberalisation are not ends in themselves. When supported by appropriate policies, including, inter alia, macroeconomic stability, sound environmental practices and good governance, they make an essential contribution to pro-poor growth and sustainable development.
