Aid for Trade Monitoring Survey: Overview
Effective aid for trade requires that we raise awareness that trade should be an important priority in
national development strategies around which donors can align their support. The value of the aid for trade
questionnaire and the broader monitoring exercise lies in creating incentives, through enhanced transparency, scrutiny and dialogue, to provide more and better aid-for-trade. It is about sharing information, learning from successes as well as failures, and applying policies and approaches that we
know to be effective.
